It’s the death anniversary of renowned mathematician Srinivas Ramanujan.
He died today in 1920 at the age of 32. In his short life, he proved his worth to the world. Without any formal training in mathematics he was the master of the subject.

He was a great mathematician, who always failed in all non-mathematical subjects. He continued his passion till the last breath. Slowly, world came to know about his excellence. Srinivasa Ramanujan had produced new theorems in addition to rediscovering previously known ones.

22 December is celebrated as ’National Mathematics Day’ to mark the birth anniversary of Srinivas Ramanujan.

He had health problems throughout his life. He died due to one of them only. His wife lived till the age of 95 and died in 1994.

1920 में आज भारत के महान mathematician, Srinivas Ramanujan का निधन हुआ था । बिना किसी औपचारिक शिक्षा के रामानुजन ने गणित में कई ऐसे योगदान दिये जिनकी बदौलत उन क्षेत्रों में आगे का शोध संभव हो पाया । 12 साल की उम्र से mathematical theorems यानी गणित के सूत्रों की खोज करने वाले Srinivas Ramanujan ने सिर्फ 32 साल के अपने जीवन में गणित की करीब 3900 Identities और Equations का संकलन किया । इसीलिए हर वर्ष 22 दिसंबर यानी उनके जन्मदिन को ‘National Mathematics Day.’ के तौर पर मनाया जाता है ।
