CD player was launched today in 1982 by Consumer electronics company SONY. It was called Sony CDP 101 which went on sale today in Japan.
This was a revolution in digital audio world. That particular model was available from 1982 to 1985. Launching price for the product was approx. ₹50,000. With time CD players, got modified, from a luxury to a household name.
The birth of CD-ripping and music file-sharing shows that only the data contained on the disc mattered. By the late 1990s, computer technology liberated music from audio CDs. Within 35 years of its birth, its gone from our lives.

हम सभी ने जीवन के किसी न किसी मोड़ पर इसका इस्तेमाल किया है। लेकिन आज हम आधुनिक तकनीक के साथ आगे बढ़ गए हैं और CD प्लेयर पीछे छूट गया है। लेकिन CD प्लेयर के लिए आज का दिन खास है। 1982 में Consumer Electronics कंपनी SONY ने आज आम लोगों के लिए पहला CD प्लेयर Launch किया था। Sony CDP-101 के नाम से जापान में इस पहले CD प्लेयर को लोगों के सामने रखा गया। इसकी कीमत उस समय लगभग 50 हज़ार रुपये थी। वक्त के साथ CD प्लेयर की कीमत घटती गई और इसका इस्तेमाल बढ़ता गया। लेकिन वो कहते है न कि जो शुरू हुआ है उसे खत्म होना ही होगा, तो धीरे-धीरे CD प्लेयर का भी अंत हो गया।
