The helical structure inside our body that determine genetic make up of our body is called DNA. DNA stands for De-Oxy-Ribo-Nucleic-Acid.
Today in 1953, James D Watson and Francis Crick discovered the chemical structure of DNA.
It is that part of the body which encodes the genetic instructions in our body. It stored all the information related to growth, development, reproduction and functioning of human body. Most DNA molecules consist of two biopolymer strands coiled around each other to form a double helix. Nearly every cell in a person’s body has the same DNA.
The discovery was put in front of the world on 25th April, 1953.
