19 Feb : The chemistry of Sun and Planets was first known to him

We all know that earth and other planets revolve around the sun.
But there was a time when it was believed that earth is in the centre. It was only after Copernicus gave this theory which is widely accepted today.

In his book “On the Revolutions of the Celestial Spheres”, Copernicus mentioned that the Sun is positioned near the center of the Universe, motionless, with Earth and the other planets rotating around it in circular paths modified by epicycles and at uniform speeds. This is called Heliocentrism.  It was a turning point in the history of scientific discoveries. The man who bought this turning point was born today in 1473.

हमारे सौर मंडल के बीचों बीच सूर्य है, ना कि धरती। ये बात आज सब को पता है। दुनिया को ये सिद्धांत देने वाले वैज्ञानिक Copernicus थे। जिनका 1473 में आज जन्म हुआ था। जिस सिद्धांत की हम बात कर रहे हैं उसे Helio-centrism कहा जाता है। अपनी किताब On the Revolutions of the Celestial Spheres में Copernicus ने ये बात कही कि सूर्य हमारे सौर मंडल के केंद्र में है और धरती के साथ-साथ सभी ग्रह सूर्य के चक्कर लगाते हैं। और पृथ्वी अंतरिक्ष के केन्द्र में नहीं है। Copernicus की इस खोज ने विज्ञान की दुनिया में क्रांति का काम किया।
