We all are well aware of the power of nylon. Nylon is an artificial fibre.
It was first produced on February 28, 1935 but today in 1937, Dr. Wallace H Carothers, a research chemist and inventor of nylon, received a patent for the synthetic fiber.
It was first used in toothbrushes. The first nylon toothbrush was called Doctor West’s Miracle Toothbrush. It is strong, hard and water resistant.
Nylon can also be used to make other materials, such as parachutes, ropes, string for tyres, carpets, fishing nets and cloth and socks.

1937 में आज Nylon की खोज करने के लिए अमेरिकी आविष्कारक Wallace H. Carothers को patent मिला था। Nylon का इस्तेमाल पहली बार 1938 में toothbrush बनाने में किया गया था। माना जाता है कि द्वितीय विश्वयुद्ध के दौरान silk की कमी हो गई थी, जिसके बाद parachutes बनाने के लिए सिल्क की जगह nylon का इस्तेमाल किया जाने लगा। आगे चल कर nylon का इस्तेमाल parachutes के अलावा कपड़े ,रस्सी, carpet और tent बनाने में भी किया गया।
