2 Dec : A one match legend was born

He is known for taking the first ever wicket in the first one day international match (ODI). He is Australian pacer Alan Thomson. 

Geoff Boycott was caught by Bill Lawry for 8 runs at the MCG on 5 January 1971. This was even the first ever catch in the first ever ODI. It was Alan’s only ODI wicket. He was the most economical bowler in the match, taking 1 for 22 off eight 8-ball overs.

Born today in 1945, Alan is known for bowling on the wrong foot. He had the most Awkward bowling action in One Day Cricket History.
