Plants are just like us. They can’t move, but they can feel the happy and sad moods. They can feel our love and hatred. They are hurt when cut and appease when nourished. He demonstrated that plants are also sensitive to heat, cold, light, noise and various other external stimuli.
This was proved by Sir Jagdish Chandra Bose. He was an eminent Indian scientist. He died today in 1937.
Bose used his invention the Crescograph to prove that plant’s have life.
He was the first Indian to get American patent. He was a physicist, biologist, biophysicist, botanist and archaeologist. At the same time is known for introduction of sciece fiction in Bangla literature. There is a lunar impact crater on moon named after Sir Jagdish Chandra Bose.

1937 में आज प्रसिद्ध वैज्ञानिक जगदीश चंद्र बोस का निधन हुआ था। जगदीश चंद्र बोस पहले ऐसे वैज्ञानिक थे जिन्होंने रेडियो और Microwave किरणों से जुड़ी optics पर काम किया था। वनस्पति विज्ञान यानी plant science में उन्होनें कई महत्त्वपूर्ण योगदान दिये। अलग-अलग परिस्थितियों में किसी पौधे के अंदर होने वाले बदलाव का विश्लेषण करके जगदीश चंद्र बोस इस नतीजे पर पहुंचे की पौधे संवेदनशील होते हैं। पौधे “दर्द महसूस कर सकते हैं और स्नेह का अनुभव कर सकते हैं”। 1904 में अमेरिकन पेटेंट हासिल करने वाले पहले भारतीय जगदीश चंद्र बोस ही थे। उन्हें physicist, biologist, biophysicist, botanist, और archaeologist होने के साथ-साथ बांग्ला साहित्य में science fiction के जनक के तौर पर भी देखा जाता है। जगदीश चंद्र बोस के सम्मान में चांद पर एक lunar impact crater का नाम भी उन्हीं के नाम पर रखा गया है।
