23 Oct : The Walkman of the 21st century launched

The era of iPod is over. But just like any other Apple product, iPods were a revolution. Launched today in 2001, iPods were a success soon after the launch. Liked by every music lover, iPods offered ‘1000 songs in your pocket’, which was just like a dream come true.

The first iPod was simply named the iPod.
The very first iPod came with a simple game called “Brick”.
It also had the ability to store addresses and other contact details.
Apple still makes iPods like this today, but they are now called “iPod classic”.

The most recent iPod redesigns were announced on July 15, 2015.
There are three current versions of the iPod:
the ultra-compact iPod Shuffle,
the compact iPod Nano and
the touchscreen iPod Touch

Another type of iPod, called the iPod shuffle.
It is very small, and it uses flash memory.
It has no screen.
It is the least expensive iPod.

Apple makes a smaller iPod called the iPod nano.

The most expensive iPod is called the iPod touch.
It has a touch screen, like the iPhone.
The first iPod touch was released in 2007.

The iPod now comes with computer cables so that the user can put music from their computer onto the iPod, and play music from it using headphones. Newer iPods allow a user to play games, view pictures, watch videos and use the internet, too.

2001 में आज Apple ने iPod म्यूज़िक प्लेयर लॉन्च किया था जिसे ज़बरदस्त सफलता मिली थी। उस समय इसे “the Walkman of the twenty-first century” कहा जाता था। iPod में 5 GB की hard drive थी और इसमें करीब 1000 गाने स्टोर किए जा सकते थे। इसके प्रचार में एक Oneliner का इस्तेमाल किया गया था ‘one thousand songs in your pocket’ यानी आपकी जेब में एक हज़ार गाने।
