The Sydney Opera House is the landmark of Australia.

It took 15 years to build this lotus shape structure designed by Danish Architect Jorn Utzon. As the name suggests, it’s an Opera House, but reality is, it comprises of 7 performance venues that include; the Concert Hall, the Opera Theatre, Playhouse, Drama Theatre, The Studio, the Forecourt and the Utzon Room.

The Sydney Opera House was formally opened by Elizabeth II, Queen of Australia, on 20 October 1973.
The highest roof point is 67 metres above sea-level – the same as a 22-storey high building.
The building was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2007, and the organisation describes it as “great urban sculpture set in a remarkable waterscape, at the tip of a peninsula projecting into Sydney Harbour.”
