Today is the day to celebrate 114th birthday of ice cream cone with an ice cream in cone. Once upon a time ice cream was a very expensive desert which only the rich could enjoy. But, by the end of 18th century and early 19th century ice cream was affordable by the middle class and so was sold by the street vendors.

It just melts in your mouth and fills your soul with freshness.
It’s the ice cream.
Once upon a time ice cream was a very expensive desert which only the rich could enjoy. But, by the end of 18th century and early 19th century ice cream was affordable by the middle class and so was sold by the street vendors.

How ice cream cone was invented ?
It’s said that necessity is the mother of invention.
This is absolutely true in case of ice cream cones. They were invented today in 1904 at St. Louis World’s Fair by Ernest Hamwi in 1904. His waffle booth was next to an ice cream vendor Charles Menches who ran short of dishes. Hamwi rolled a waffle to contain ice cream and the cone was born.

There is another story of ice cream cone invention.
It is believed that Italo Marchiony, who migrated from Italy in the late 1800s, produced the first ice cream cone in 1896 in New York City. They give credit to Hamwi for introducing and popularising ice cream cones rather than for creating it. The patent for cone-making was awarded to Italo Marchiony (1868-1954) in 1903. Marchiony was a street vendor on Wall Street where he sold lemon ices from a pushcart to Wall Street brokers and runners. He had been working on a cone-making device since 1896 and filed for a patent in 1902.

How ice cream was invented ?
It was in the 4th century B.C. when the Roman Emperor Nero ordered ice to be brought from the mountains and combined it with the fruit toppings.

So, how many of you enjoy ice cream in cones rather than stick?
