Whenever u look up in the sky, or peep out of your balcony or window, one thing that interrupts your vision is the bunch of wires tied between various electric poles. This is a way that electricity is distributed between communities in any area.

This concept was first thought by none other than Thomas Alva Edison. Today in 1883 for the first time an entire community was lit by electricity from a shared, central generating station employing overhead wires. Roselle in New Jersey was the lucky place. A store, the townтАЩs railway depot, 40 or so houses and 150 streetlights were lighted together. Since then, the world started to glow.

Not only this, the first church in history to be lit by an electric light bulb was the Presbyterian Church of Roselle. It was lit by a 30 bulb electrolier. The same is still hung in the church.
Thanks to Thomas Alva Edison.
